Prototypes: a gifted film for a Los Angeles nonprofit
1 filmdirected and produced as a gift for Prototypes, a sub-agency of HealthRIGHT 360 in Los Angeles
My roleDirector and producer. I led the interview and laid out the whole production.

Budget and timelineA gift. I gave my time and the production to the nonprofit at no cost to them.

The problem
HealthRIGHT 360 is a vital Los Angeles nonprofit, and Prototypes is one of its sub-agencies. Organizations like this carry heavy missions on small budgets, and they rarely have the time or money to tell their story on film. A video that explains the work and the people behind it can help with donors, partners and the people who need the services.
What I did
- Direction. I planned the film end to end: the story, the interview questions, the shots and the order they would appear.
- The interview. I conducted the interview on camera and shaped the story around what the person said.
- Production and edit. I produced the shoot and guided the edit into a one-minute film that the nonprofit can use anywhere it tells its story.
- Why I did it. It is a lot of work, and I wanted to give something back to a local organization doing vital work in the community where I live and work.
